Local Attractions

While visiting the Ferguson Funeral Home Museum, take advantage of the many local attractions that the Scottdale community and surrounding areas have to offer.  Scottdale is also a part of the Pittsburgh region and its many cultural offerings.  Below are some “must see” attractions. 

History

The “Bird Boy of Scottdale” is a perfect stop to make when paying your respects to the veterans of our community. You’ll find the monument on Pittsburgh Street in downtown Scottdale. And don’t forget to visit the Veteran's Memorial located at the corner of Pittsburgh Street and Broadway.

If history is what you like, then be certain to see the newly re-formed Scottdale Historical Society at Loucks (Laux) Homestead located on North Chestnut Street. There is also the West Overton Museum www.westoverton.org, which is only a short drive from downtown. There you may tour Henry Clay Frick's birthplace and museum. You can browse the shops located in the Village Shops and even hold an event at the refurbished barn.

Shopping

You can’t visit Scottdale without shopping! Downtown Scottdale has something for everyone.

Culture

Perhaps while you are in town you will attend a show at The Geyer Performing Arts Center at 111 Pittsburgh Street. Check their website at www.geyerpac.com or call the box office at 724-887-0887 for more details. Other cultural hotspots in the surrounding areas include the Palace Theatre, located in Greensburg.

Dining

Downtown Scottdale offers several dining options. Dine at any of Scottdale's fine establishments such as Carson's Tavern, Wise's Restaurant, or the Scottdale Firemen's Club. Or you can just order a pizza from Doughboy's Pizza, Fox's Pizza Den, or Pepper's Pizza.
